12 Life Lessons Every Student Can Learn From Ariana Grande

The student journey is a rollercoaster of experiences, to say the least. We win some, we lose some. Either way, we sing through them. Why feel alone through these moments, when you can have Ariana Grande jamming with you through the background?

There’s an Ariana Grande song for everything and you know it. Failed a test? We’re gonna be alright. Just graduated? She showed you how! Headed to prom? You know it’s on your playlist! Here are 12 moments in your student journey that Queen Ari will sing with you through!

1. Unfollow fear and just say, “You are blocked.” – Get Well Soon

Transitions are always tricky! Whether it’s moving from high school to college or college to the workforce, everyone is equally subject to the fear of rejection. Don’t fret, Queen Ari gives us a pat on the back as she sings…

2. On a scale of one to 10, I’m at 100. – The Way

Even the smartest people have off-days and that’s okay. Don’t put yourself down when you don’t feel too well and productive. Instead, remember and highlight the days you come in feeling like a superstar because you got this topic covered! Now sing with us!

3. Yeah, it feels so, it feels so good to be so young, and have this fun and be successful. – Successful

Small wins and big wins, both are worth celebrating. So whether you pass a pop quiz or land the job of your dreams, feel free to happy dance because you deserve it! Remember these moments!

4. I’m stronger than I’ve been before. – Break Free

Strut on that stage to get your diploma as you look back at all the stress-eating, all-nighters, and terror profs you had to endure to get to where you are. If that wasn’t one heck of a workout, I don’t know what is. Nonetheless, flex those brain muscles. You did well!

5. The hard times are golden, ’cause they all lead to better days. – Be Alright

Sometimes life’s greatest blessings come in bows and sometimes they come in rejection letters. You may not know it at the moment, but when things start making sense, it’ll all come back to you. So if you’re healing from a failed application to your dream school, your dream job, or a proposal to your dream prom date, remember it can only get better from here. Be alright on repeat!

6. The light is coming to give back everything the darkness stole. – The Light Is Coming

Even Queen Ari knows that this is every student’s reaction to the announcement of a first subject free cut when they’ve been up all night writing those research papers. Hit that snooze button, yes, you may go back to sleep.

7. I thought you into my life, woah. Look at my mind. – Pete Davidson

Speaking of philosophies, if you haven’t heard of the law of attraction, now is your chance to look it up. If Ari can think a person into her life, best believe you can think yourself into success.

Side Note: She also knows that while thinking about it is the first step, doing something about it and following through is the foundation that builds your dreams.

8. Gotta find a way to break the spell to get the hell away from those who block my vision. – Jason’s Song (Give It Away)

No matter what you do, haters gon’ hate. That much is true. So instead of trying to please those disbelievers and trying to prove them wrong, work on yourself and prove yourself right. Surround yourself with people who are good to you and good for you. Life is too short to be spending your time on people who don’t believe in you.

9. Don’t need permission, made my decision to test my limits. – Dangerous Woman

Every journey has its stretch points. These are moments when you’re tested. Whether it’s a test of courage to join a club you’ve always wanted, a test of resilience to take a subject for the second time, a test of malleability when you’re hired for a position you didn’t want, or a test of creativity when you start to learn how to make ends meet financially. Whatever your situation is, don’t be afraid to test your limits. You never know how great you can be until you beat your limit!

10. She might’ve let you hold her hand in school but I’mma show you how to graduate. – Bang Bang

As exciting as getting to the finish line sounds, unfortunately, there’s a pile of research papers to get through. The moment you realize that Google Scholar and APA should be your best friends, you’re on your way to graduation, kid!

11. I got one less problem without ya! – Problem

We all have that one subject that we have to put a lot of extra work to get through. And boy does this song ring bells when you finally get that passing mark that expels it from your life forever!

12. Thank u, next.

Whether it’s a failed exam, failed class, or failed relationship, the moment you find comfort in learning to grow from your failure is the moment find your freedom. Freedom to try again, to explore different routes, and to know yourself better. Take this as a shout out to everyone and everything that try to stand in the way of your goals, whip out your best smile and politely tell them, “thank u, next!”

So whatever it is you are going through, Ariana Grande has got you! If that’s not enough, we’re here for you too!, For more life-changing magic, check out our College Life section on the Edukasyon.ph blog!
