The Medical Technology (MedTech) course equips students to accurately and effectively assess medical laboratory tests. 1. University of Cebu-Banilad Campus (UC-Banilad)

UC-Banilad is one of four campuses established by the University of Cebu. Opened in 2002, the Banilad campus houses the Nursing College of the university. The university is one of the top 3 Cebu schools in overall board exam scores

  • High School Report Card (F-138A)
  • NSO Birth Certificate
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character

  • Certificate of Transfer Credential
  • Transcript of Records for Evaluation
  • NSO Birth Certificate
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character
  • One (1) copy of colored 2×2 ID picture

  • PHP 40,000 to 100,000

2. Southwestern University Phinma (SWU PHINMA)

Villa Aznar, Urgello Street, Cebu City

Teeming with plant life, the SWU campus has been praised for providing a welcoming atmosphere for students. Southwestern University has a 92% passing rate among first-timers for the MedTech board exams. This consistent performance in the MedTech board exam makes the university a great choice for aspiring MedTech students.

Admission requirements

Freshman admissions

  • High school report card (Form 138)
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character
  • Photocopy of birth certificate
  • Three (3) copies of colored 2×2 ID picture

Transferee admissions

  • Honorable Dismissal / Certificate of Transfer Credentials (CTC) 
  • Transcript of Records (or at least an informative copy for evaluation)
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character from the school administrator or guidance counselor of the school last attended 
  • Birth certificate (photocopy) 
  • Three (3) copies of colored 2×2 ID picture
  • Transferees must be evaluated by their respective departments/colleges
  • Transferees with unsatisfactory grades from the previous school may be accepted on probation, provided they meet the requirements for admission
  • Transferees on conditional or probationary status are monitored by the dean, the curricular adviser, and the guidance counselor

3. Velez College 

F. Ramos St, Cebu City

Velez College was founded by Dr. Jacinto Velez, Sr. in 1952. Originally a nursing school, Velez College has branched out to offer other Medical courses. The school motto, Scientia et Veritas per Educationem,” embodies the school’s philosophy of education, science, and truth. The college ranks 10th out of 107 schools nationwide for its performance in the MedTech board exams, with a 99% passing rate.

  • Filled up Velez College application form
  • Form 138-A (fourth year high school report card)
  • Two (2) copies of colored 2×2 ID picture
  • Certified true copy of report card (latest grading period)

Transferee admissions

  • Accomplished transferee admission form
  • Informative copy of course credits earned, for reference
  • Certificate of Good Moral Character duly signed by the school authority
  • One (1) copy of colored 2×2 ID picture (with white background)

Tuition fee

  • PHP 90,000 to 100,000

4. Cebu Doctors’ University

#1 Dr. P. V. Larrazabal, Jr. Avenue, North Reclamation, Mandaue City, Cebu City

For students looking to pursue a master’s degree in MedTech, Cebu Doctors’ University offers one of the best education programs not only in Cebu, but across the country. The university ranks 38th nationwide and 2nd in Cebu for overall board exam performances. 

Masters of Science in MedTech (2 years)

Admission requirements

  • Entrance exam – c/o Guidance Office (Fee is P 400.00)
  • Four (4) copies of colored 2×2 ID picture (with white background)
  • Get an endorsement from the Graduate School dean for entrance exam
  • Filled out application form (form available at the Graduate School)
  • Original Transcript of Records and Honorable dismissal (Transfer Credential) for Non-CDU graduate
  • NSO birth certificate (photocopy)
  • Marriage contract, if married (photocopy)

Tuition fee

  • PHP 76,000 to 90,000
