List of Free In-Demand Tech-Voc Courses for Women

Technical-vocational (tech-voc) courses are for women, too. Tech-voc courses are a fast and practical way to gain the skills and experience you need for promising careers. You could even forge new paths toward non-traditional jobs such as welding, plumbing, and automotive servicing! #GirlPower  

Here’s a list of certificate courses that will give you job-ready skills in as fast as 3 months to 2 years. The best part? You can take any of these tech-voc courses at the TESDA Women’s Center for free!  

1. Bartending NC II

Duration: 3 months

Becoming a bartender is one of the coolest jobs in the technical-vocational industry! Learn how to operate a bar, prepare and mix different kinds of drinks, and provide basic wine services to guests! This course will also teach you the basic characteristics of each drink and the appropriate tools and glassware to use in serving drinks to customers.

 

2. Food Processing NC II

Duration: 4 months

This course will enhance your knowledge about the science of food processing by salting, curing, smoking, fermentation, pickling, and sugar concentration. You will also learn how to prepare kitchen tools and ingredients, as well as production reports. And like any qualified food professional, you will learn the principles and practices of food safety and sanitation. Once you’ve completed the course, you can work as a packaging aide or put up your own food business!

3. Plumbing NC I and NC II

Duration: 1 month

Learn the operational skills you’ll need as a plumber. This course will teach you how to prepare plumbing layouts, make piping joints and connections, perform construction work, and assemble plumbing units. After completing the Plumbing NC I, you have to earn at least two years of plumbing experience to attend the next course level: Plumbing NC II!

You can also level up your career by taking the Master Plumber Exam. As long as you present proof of five years plumbing experience, along with your TESDA certification or high school diploma, you will be allowed to take the exam!

4.Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC I and II

Duration: 2 months

Yes, you read it right. You can pursue a career in welding! The welding industry is traditionally known to be a male-dominated field but today, women are also making it big in the welding industry!

What’s more, welding is one of the most in-demand and high-paying jobs in the technical-vocational field. This course will train you to weld carbon steel plates using shielded metal arc welding. You will also learn how to apply safety practices, interpret drawings and sketches, and perform industry calculations. 

5. Automotive Servicing NC II

Duration: 7 months

Do you want to become an automotive mechanic? This course will train you how to inspect, maintain, and repair light and heavy-duty automotive vehicles. After you’ve completed the course, you will be able to maintain and repair cars like a pro!

6. Cookery NC II

Duration: 5 months

Indulge yourself in this cookery course! Cookery NC II will teach you the techniques in preparing hot and cold meals, including desserts. Once you’ve finished the course, you can work as a cook, chef garde manger (also known as pantry chef), or pastry chef!

7. Dressmaking NC II

Duration: 4 months

This course will enhance your skills in drafting and cutting patterns, sewing clothes, and applying finishing touches on clothes. You will also learn how to operate machines, perform basic maintenance, and apply quality standards on your work. Fulfill your Project Runway dreams by taking this course! If you’re an aspiring fashion designer or dressmaker, then this training program is for you!
