May you be guided by the Holy Spirit Manila entrance exam.
As you have heard, College of the Holy Spirit Manila is giving FREE ENTRANCE EXAMS to all incoming college freshies. So if you are a graduating senior high student, now is your chance to become a CHSian.
However, before becoming an official CHSM student, you have to pass their entrance exam first. Here are some few tips from former CHSians that can help you out during the exam.
1. Study ahead.
No. You are not Tony Stark who can study one thing overnight and expect that you will pass the entrance exam. Just like any other admission tests, you have to do an advance reading and try to understand anything under the sun. Hardest questions are not at Math but in English because they have a lot of statements to read. You can try the scan method but be careful not to miss any important details.
2. Prepare a pack of pens and pencils.
If you are not sure how the exam is going to be taken, then bring a pack of pens and pencils just to be prepared. You never know when you needed them and looking for an extra pen can take much of your time. Once seated, you can put them in a row in front of you so you wouldn’t have a hard time looking for an extra pen or pencil.
3. Test your grammar and vocabulary.
Th best way to make sure that you have studied ahead is by testing your grammar and vocabulary. There are lots of reviewer around the internet that you can utilize for the review. See where you are having difficulties with and try your best to overcome them.
4. Double read tough questions.
The best way to surpass time pressure is doing the skip and pass technique. Scanning the question and skipping if it is hard. However, keep in mind that some questions have the answers themselves so double read these questions and use context clues to get the right answer (or even maybe the right guess).
5. Write the formulas ahead.
If you are given an extra exam sheet and you are really anxious about failing the Math part, write the formulas on an extra sheet and make it your guide in answering the Math section of the exam. This way, you can still remember the basics and you would not have a hard time thinking the right formula to use.
