What is Bachelor of Science in Architecture?
Architecture is the science of planning, designing, and constructing buildings. To be an architect, you need to have a degree in Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BS Archi). BS Architecture is a five-year degree program that focuses on providing students with technical and aesthetic know-how about constructing any physical structure.
Under this program, students will be trained about the different aspects of architecture such as drawing and design, principles of construction, and visual perception. The last two years, on the other hand, focuses on the practical applications of the lessons learned. A Certificate in Building Technology and Utilities will be granted to students upon completion of all prescribed courses.
To be a professional, a graduate of BS Archi must first pass the Architecture Licensure Examination (ALE) conducted by the Board of Architecture under the supervision of the Professional Regulation Commission. The ALE is scheduled twice a year. To qualify for the board, graduates must have a minimum of 2 years equivalent period of internship.
