Best RadTech Schools in the Philippines

Do you plan to work in medical and diagnostic clinics in the future? Perhaps you might want to consider a course in Radiologic Technology.

BS Radiologic Technology or BS RadTech is a degree program that trains students on operating various diagnostic equipment such as x-ray machines, mammograms, and MRIs in order to produce images needed for diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

To be a licensed Radiographer, you need to pass the Radiologic Technology Licensure Examination supervised by the Professional Regulation Commission.

If you are looking for a college that could best prepare you for a career in this field, here are some of the leading universities in the country that offer BS RadTech based on their performance in the Radiologic Technology Licensure Examination over the last five years (2014-2018):

1. Saint Louis University

One of the leading higher education institutions in Baguio, Saint Louis University has a wide range of college courses including Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology under its School of Natural Sciences. Since 2015, the university has been a consistent top performing school in RadTech licensure exams, besting hundreds of colleges in the country. In the July 2018 board, SLU posted a passing rate of 95.06 %.

 

2. Davao Doctors College

Established in 1975, the Davao Doctors College is a private institution in Davao City known for its excellence in various fields especially in allied health sciences. Its undergraduate programs in RadTech has been awarded by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation with a Level II accreditation. It consistently ranks 2nd in the Radiologic Technology board. In the 2018 board, Davao Doctors College is one of the only two schools in the country to be included in PRC’s top performing schools garnering a passing rate of 87.13 %.

3. De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute

The DLSMHSI is the medical school of the De La Salle University located in Dasmariñas, Cavite. The school’s College of Medical Imaging and Therapy offers BS RadTech degrees. Throughout the years, DLSMHSI continues to produce board passers and topnotchers in the field including Diana Jean Felizardo Caimol who placed 8th in the 2018 Radiologic Technology Licensure Examination with a score of 88.80%.

4. Liceo De Cagayan University

Liceo de Cagayan is the only university in the Philippines to have a Center of Development designation from the Commission on Higher Education in its Radiologic Technology programs and is also one of the largest schools in the region. Its recent feats include the achievement of Angelo Babanto Ramos who ranked 2nd in the 2018 board placing a 90.40% score.

5. Saint Jude College – Manila

Saint Jude College is a private institution known for its programs in Nursing but it also offers a range of baccalaureate courses including RadTech, Physical Therapy, and Medical Technology. Since 2014, Saint Jude College was able to produce 11 Radiologic Technology Licensure Exam topnotchers.
