The Pangasinan State University (PSU) is a state university in the province of Pangasinan. PSU has nine campuses located in Lingayen (main campus), Asingan, Alaminos City, Binmaley, Bayambang, Infanta, San Carlos City, Sta. Maria, and Urdaneta City.

Since its establishment in 1979, the school has been known for providing high-quality education for the students. The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) even designated PSU with Centers of Excellence for its Teacher Education and Fisheries programs.

Students who are planning to study at Pangasinan State University must take and pass the PSU College Admission Test First. Here are the important things you need to know about the entrance exam:

What is the Pangasinan State University College Admission Test (PSUCAT)?

The Pangasinan State University College Admission Test (PSUCAT) is the annual examination that screens aspiring PSU students.

 

What are the application requirements of the Pangasinan State University College Admission Test?

To be eligible to take the PSUCAT, you must be a senior high graduate or a graduating Grade 12 student upon application for PSU-College Admission Test. In addition, you also need to prepare the following documents to be submitted to the PSU Guidance Office/Student Services Office:

  • Duly accomplished PSU-CAT Form
  • Two identical 2×2 photo in plain background with name tag
  • Photocopy of Form 138 (report card)
  • Certificate of good moral character
  • PSUCAT fee
  • Brown envelope with your complete mailing address

Foreign students who want to take PSUCAT must submit the following documents:

  • PSU-CAT and PSU English Proficiency Test results (must be submitted prior to admission)
  • Valid student VISA
  • Original Transcript of Records (OTR) with English Translation
  • Identification card issued by the Philippine Bureau of Immigration
  • TOEFL or IELTS results

When is the PSUCAT?

The Pangasinan State University College Admission Test happens on the month of April every year. To receive the latest updates about the entrance exam, you may refer to the university’s Admission, Guidance and Testing Office (ACC) FB page or Pangasinan State University official FB page.

How to apply for the PSUCAT?

Here’s a step-by-step guide in applying for the PSUCAT:

1. Visit your chosen PSU campus.

You can visit the campus’ Guidance Office/Student Services Office or go to the Admission and Testing Office of PSU Lingayen (Main).

2. Complete the application form.

Download, print and fill out the application form at the PSU official website. You can also ask for a printed copy of the form from the PSU office. After you accomplish the PSUCAT form, attach your two 2×2 photos.

3. Pay the testing fee.

Pay the PSUCAT testing fee at the designated cashier and get your official receipt.

4. Submit all the requirements.

Submit your duly accomplished form together with the official receipt and other requirements to Guidance Office/Student Services Office.

5. Secure your examination permit.

After you submit all the required documents, you will receive your examination permit. Secure the permit and remember to bring it on the day of your exam.

What should I bring during the PSUCAT day?

Here are the things you need to bring on the PSUCAT day:

  • No. 2 pencils
  • Examination permit

Where can I view the results of the PSUCAT?

The results of the PSUCAT will be published on the PSU official website. If you submitted a brown envelope with your complete address, you will also receive notice through mail.
