Aside from its majestic landscape and natural resources, did you know that Davao region is also home to some of the best higher education institutions in the country? From aviation and medicine to other courses, Davao continues to produce competent professionals. If you are planning to take a degree in law, here’s a list of Davao schools that offer this program:

1. University of Mindanao

The University of Mindanao (UM) is the largest university in Davao City. It was founded 1946 and has ten branches located throughout Southern Mindanao. The school provides degree programs in Bachelor of Laws for aspiring lawyers. Aside from its law programs, UM also excels in other disciplines being awarded by the Commission on Higher Education as a Center of Excellence and Development in Teacher Education and Business Administration. In 2017, it also received its ISO 9001:2015 certification.

2. Ateneo De Davao University

Founded in 1961, Ateneo De Davao’s College of Law is definitely one of the best law schools in the Philippines. Its law programs are conducted on evening classes from Mondays to Fridays. Over the years, it has produced a number of Bar passers and topnotchers including Camille Remoroza who ranked third in the 2017 Bar exams with a passing grade of 90.7%.

3. Jose Maria College (JMC)

The JMC College of Law is a private school located in Sasa, Davao City offering four-year (the regular curriculum offered to law students) and five-year (tailored for the working students where they only have to attend class for three days – Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) Bachelor of Law programs. Aside from this, the college has also recently started its Masters of Laws in partnership with San Beda College.

4. Rizal Memorial Colleges

Rizal Memorial Colleges is one of the higher education institutions in Davao region to offer a program in Law. In 2017, the college has received its permission from the Legal Education Board to re-open its Law program. Aside from Law, Rizal Memorial Colleges also offers bachelor’s degrees in Education, Arts and Sciences and Business Administration.

5. St. Mary’s College of Tagum

St. Mary’s College of Tagum has its College of Law dedicated to training students in becoming professional lawyers. One of the institution’s recent feats is Krizza Fe Alcantara – Bagni who ranked 8th in the 2017 Bar exams garnering an average of 88.9%.

6. Cor Jesu College

Currently located in Digos City, Davao del Sur, Cor Jesu College is a Catholic school offering a number of courses for the students of Davao region. Its Law School has a Bachelor of Laws program. Several of its courses have been awarded a Level I, II and III status by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities.

7. St. Thomas More School of Law and Business

The St. Thomas More School of Law and Business is located in Tagum City, Davao del Norte. It offers a Bachelor of Law curriculum for the students. Aside from this, its Criminology, Public Administration, Secondary and Elementary Education as well as Business Administration is recognized by the Commission on Higher Education.
