Once you have completed your application form, all you have to do is to take the FREE entrance exam. However, as easy as it may sound, some students say that the PWU Entrance Exam is one of the hardest to take ever.

Fear not though, because here are a few tips from Philwomenians on how you can pass your entrance exam.

1. Prepare for the hard Math and Science.

As with every entrance exam, the Math and Science part would be difficult. Try to remember the basic formulas and write them down on a cue card. After that, test yourself if you will be able to get the formulas correct. Also, try to time yourself so you can know how to properly manage each hard questions when the actual test comes in.

2. Read a lot. Read some more.

Reading is one of the basic skills you need to pass various entrance exams especially the reading comprehension part. Having the skill to read fast and understand clear long passages can get you plus points and additional time. Don’t get too pressured because if you let your fear overcome you, it may cloud your ability to interpret and get the point of the statements.

3. Know the routes to the school.

Taft is one of the busiest avenues in Manila so if you are not going as early as you can, you should know the different routes to PWU. PWU – Taft is situated near Pedro Gil and the Philippine General Hospital. On Saturdays, these streets are crowded because more people are out to visit Luneta Park or go to Robinsons Galleria which is near the university.

4. Practice the skip and scan technique.

To better get a hold of your time, scan the questions first and try to answer the easiest ones that you know. If it’s that hard, don’t dwell on it as you might run out of time for the other parts of the exam. Skip the hard questions but make sure you won’t leave the sheet blank. The better you make an educated guess, the higher the possibility that you get the right answer.

5. Wait for the test result.

After finishing the exam, keep your exam number and get back to the school after a few hours. You will be able to get the text result at the same day you took the exam so pamper yourself and try to relax as you wait if you are now an official Philwomenian!
