Top Accounting Schools in Manila
University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD)
University of the Philippines – Diliman topped the schools by garnering a whopping 94.52% passing rate in the October 2018 exam! It’s not surprising; they have been consistently producing topnotchers while having the highest passing rates year after year. Note that UP-D had a perfect 100% passing rate last October 2017.
De La Salle University (DLSU)
Next up, De La Salle University – Manila in second place with an 86.84% passing rate for the October 2018 CPA board exams. Their acclaimed Bachelors of Science in Accountancy (BSA) program was awarded Level IV status, the highest level, by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP). This means that the university is recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as an excellent institution with high-quality programs.
University of Santo Tomas (UST)
UST boasts a 76.82% passing rate from the October 2018 exams, with an impressive handful—five to be exact—of topnotchers on the top 10 list. Their BSA curriculum complies with the International Education Standards (IES). But more importantly, they emphasize the need for ethical accountants who represent the Catholic, Christian, and ethical teachings of the school.
Far Eastern University (FEU)
This year, FEU earned a 72% passing rate from the exams last October 2018. With a reputation for a consistent amount of passers every year, FEU also boasts one of the first accountancy degree programs in the Philippines.
University of the East – Manila (UAE)
Last October 2018, the University of the East had a solid passing rate of 51.13%. With a highly selective admissions program, and alumni projects for professional support, UAE is believed to be one of the Philippines’ best accounting schools.
Wherever you’re planning to go, getting a BS Accountancy (BSA) is anything but child’s play, with only around a third of graduates passing CPALE every year. And the course itself is notorious for having a high attrition rate of around 11% of students who stay in their enrolled course. It’s going to be ‘taxing’—pardon the pun. But with hard work and determination (and coming equipped with the right choice for your education), you can certainly achieve your dreams of becoming a Certified Public Accountant.
