What You Need To Know To Get Into EARIST

It’s no secret that science and technology have been taking the world by storm these days. So much so that a lot of thriving careers have stemmed from STEM. #PunIntended

But with all the changes going on in the world, taking up a course in STEM is getting more expensive by the minute. Good news is, there’s a school that highlights its STEM courses without having you spend way too much!

EARIST or the Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology was founded in 1945 and has strived to instill excellence in science and technology among Filipino students ever since. If a career in STEM is what you’re looking for, EARIST is a good place to start. Here’s how you can jump in on that journey!

What do I need to prepare?

Before you apply for the EARIST entrance exam, make sure you have all the required documents ready for submission. You’ll need both the original and a photocopied version. The requirements may vary depending on the applicant.

  • If you’re a senior high school graduate, you’ll need:

    • Transcript of records showing your eligibility to enter college
    • Certificate of Good Moral Character
    • Birth certificate from PSA (6 month validity)
  • If you’re a transferee, you’ll need:

    • Transcript of Records
    • Honorable Dismissal
    • Certificate of Good Moral Character
    • Birth certificate from PSA (6 month validity)
    • Proof of all passing marks (AKA: No failing grades)

What’s the application process?

Once you’ve prepared all your requirements, your next step is to have them processed!

  1. Go to the Cashier’s Office to settle the P500 entrance fee
  2. Head to the Registrar’s Office for the issuance of your ECAT application form
  3. Submit all the requirements together with the completed ECAT application form to the Registrar’s Office
  4. Have your photo taken and receive your official exam permit from the Registrar’s Office

Ready to take the test?

Double check the information indicated on your exam permit and make sure to be at your designated exam room at the assigned date and time.

Things to bring:

    • Exam Permit
    • ECAT official receipt

The exam should last for about 2 hours. After the exam, you’ll be notified when the results come out and where to find them.

I passed the exam. Now what?

You’re almost ready to start. You’ve already passed the entrance but not too fast!

Before you start on your EARIST student journey, there are two final stages for you to go through.

Personal Interview

Once EARIST lets you know that you’ve officially made the cut, head over to the Dean’s Office for your personal interview. Before you show up to your interview, make sure you have the necessary documents the Dean will ask from you:

    • Application for ECAT
    • Admission Form
    • High School Report Card or your Form 138
    • Certificate of Live Birth

Health Check

And the last step is a health check! Before you are officially admitted as a student of EARIST or (Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology,) you’ll have to go through a medical and dental check up.

Don’t worry this step should take no longer than an hour and will be done in the clinic of the school.

After the health check, you’ll be given your Medical Exam result and you’re good to go!

Here’s to you and your ultimate STEM career! Don’t forget to make great changes in the world while you’re at it. And on days that your College Life challenges you a little more, don’t forget how much of an impact you have on the world. Even on days that you forget, Edukasyon.ph will be here to remind you. You got this!
