What You Need to Pass The TUP College Entrance Test

The Technological University of the Philippines or also known as TUP  is one of the pioneering providers of industrial engineering education in the Philippines. What started as Manila Trade School in 1901 has flourished into one of the country’s go-to institutions for vocational and technological courses.

Though Technological University of the Philippines has 5 satellite schools nationwide, it still keeps its entrance exam centralized. So, that means the official venue for the TUPCET is in its flagship branch along Ermita, Manila.

Here are 3 easy steps to start your educational journey with TUP!

Step 1: Prepare Your Requirements

First things first, make sure all your requirements are complete! TUP accepts both local and foreign Senior High School graduates and transferees. Here are some of the general requirements every applicant should have.

General Requirements

  • Senior high school graduates

      • Passing marks on both the oral and written TUPSTAT (TUP Scholastic and Technical Aptitude Test)
      • Certificate of Good Moral Character
      • Certificate of mental and physical fitness
      • Specific course requirements
  • Inter-TUP transferees

      • Endorsement from the Admissions Office
      • Good scholastic records
      • Certificate of Good Moral Character
      • Certification of Available slot from the Department
      • Specific course requirements
  • External transferees (from other schools)

    • Certificate of transfer credentials
    • Good scholastic records
    • Certificate of Good Moral Character
    • Certification of available slot from the department
    • Specific course requirements

Note: Every applicant should submit these general requirements along with the requirements of the specific college and course they’re applying for.

Step 2: Apply Online

Once you’ve got your requirements ready, it’s time to fill out your application form. You can do that by registering to TUP’s official website and completing the online application process. When you’re done with that, make sure to submit it to the admissions office, along with ID photos of yourself and the processing fee.

After you’ve gone through the application process, the admissions office will give you a test permit where your testing time, date, and room will be indicated.

PS: If you don’t know how to get there, here’s a list of ways you can travel there through public transport.

Step 3: Take The Test

Last thing for you to remember is to show up to your assigned date, time, and venue. Take three deep breaths and take the entrance exam as best as you can. After the exam, wait for TUP to post the results on their official website and start prepping for the next 5 years!

Sure, TUP is known for producing brilliant engineers. But if engineering isn’t your thing? No need to fret because TUP’s got a lot of different academic programs for you to choose from.

Choosing a college is just as important as choosing a course. It has to be a place you find yourself able to learn and grow.
