Mental Health Services In Davao City For Students

For years, people who have been struggling with their mental health have isolated themselves, refusing to get treatment due to stigma. Discussions on mental health remain a sensitive topic in the country. And today, even with the Mental Health Law already in place, psychiatric and counseling services remain inaccessible to the general public. 

Undeniably, mental health services in the Philippines still have a lot of room to grow. But slowly, workplaces, schools, and even communities are getting more access to mental health and wellness programs. 

But getting treatment will only be possible if you make the first move. Know that it’s okay to get help if you’re struggling with your mental health; there are many organizations and clinics that are dedicated to helping you. 

Here are some mental health services in Davao City:

1. IBL Counseling and Testing Center

The IBL Counseling and Testing Center assists individuals and groups in everyday decision-making. The center also offers neuropsychological examinations and counseling services to help improve a person’s self-esteem. 

Rate:

Counseling and psychological tests will only cost PHP 500 per session.

2. New Day Recovery Center

This institution promotes the healing and well-being of its patients. The center offers various services for people struggling with addictions, behavioral problems, and psychiatric disorders. New Day Recovery Center also offers psychological testing, training, and counseling for students.

Rate: 

PHP 1,500 for the first session and PHP 1,200 for succeeding sessions

3. Leaf Turning Wellness and Testing Center

Leaf provides therapy sessions for occupational, behavioral, educational, and family concerns. IQ and Psychological Tests for children and adults are also available in the center. Moreover, the center offers therapeutic services for children with special needs. 

The testing center accepts referral patients from teachers, guidance counselors, and developmental pediatricians. 

Rate:

Initial consultations start from PHP 1,200.

Yes, the first conversation about your mental health is the hardest. But it will get easier as you take small steps to get the help you need. If you’re not ready to get professional help, you can start by opening up to a good friend or family member. Doing so could help you decide if you do need to seek out mental health services, as well as give you the courage to overcome your struggles.
