Build A Resume That Stands Out With These 4 Skills

Sooner or later, you’re going to write a resume as you apply for jobs. Whether you’re looking for an internship or a full-time job, applications can get competitive.

Boost your credibility with skills that will make you stand out. Here are 4 hard skills you can learn before you send out your resume!

1. Computer Programming

Computer programming is one of the most valuable hard skills today. Many businesses are going online nowadays, and knowing how to build web solutions will surely attract many employers to your resume.

Edukasyon.ph has recently partnered with Amazon’s AWS Educate, which provides free learning material for computer programming. Registration is free, and it only takes 2 minutes!

How to sign up: 

  • Fill up the AWS Educate registration form. Select “Edukasyon.ph” as your institution name.
  • Click “Next” then select “AWS Educate Starter Account.”
  • Verify your email address to set up your password.
  • Start your learning!  

Note:

  • You have to be at least 14 years old to sign up on AWS Educate.
  • Your graduation date has to be a future date.

2. Data Analysis

Data analysis is the backbone of many big business decisions—whether the practice involves logging data in an Excel sheet, running basic codes, or executing complex algorithms. 

Learn how to think systematically and tell great stories out of numbers. Many websites provide free learning paths in data analysis and data science, including AWS Educate. So pop open a new tab and start your search for free data analysis courses! 

3. Project Management

Project management is an essential skill for high school students taking up ABMSTEM, or HUMSS, or college students who are studying business

The skill is all about event planning and organizing. You’ll be tasked to coordinate with people, negotiate with sponsors, and manage time and money!

Seminars and events are common in companies; Knowing how to manage a project will definitely give you an edge over other job applicants. Project management skills will definitely make you an effective all-around person!

4. Product Design

Look around you; you’re basically surrounded by products—cellphones, books, chair, table, light fixtures. You can just imagine how frustrating life can be if everyday objects don’t work as they should: a chair that’s too small to carry your weight, a flickering light bulb, a phone that turns off on its own.

Product design entails making products that look good and work functionally. If you have an eye for details and a creative mindset, product design might be a great skill to master.
