DepEd releases calendar of activities for SY 2018-2019

Did you know that you can plan out the rest of your year as the school calendar is released just before the classes start? Make your first day of classes fun and know in advance the activities and holidays this year. #FirstDayHooray!

The Department of Education (DepEd) has recently released a memo containing the calendar of activities for school year 2018-2019. The calendar includes the schedule for start and end of classes, school breaks, exams, distribution of cards, parent-teacher conferences, and of course the official holidays.  

Public schools are required to follow this calendar. Private schools may deviate from this calendar but they may not start earlier than June 4 or later than August 31. All schools should follow the prescribed number of the days of classes which is 200 per year. Calendar of activities are as follows:

 

JUNE

June 4 – Start of classes

June 12 – Holiday: Independence day

June 15 – Holiday: Eid’l Fitr

 

JULY

July 2-31 – Deworming of school children

 

AUGUST

August 9-10 – First quarter exams

August 18 – Distribution of report cards and parent-teacher conference

August 21 – Ninoy Aquino Day

August 22 – Eid’l Adha

August 27 – National Heroes Day

 

OCTOBER

October 5 – World Teacher’s Day

October 18-19 – Second quarter exams

October 22 – Start of sembreak

October 27 – Distribution of report cards and parent-teacher conference

October 29 – Resumption of classes

 

NOVEMBER

November 1 – All Saints Day

November 2 – All Souls Day

November 30 – Bonifacio Day

 

DECEMBER

December 22 – Start of Christmas break

December 30 – Rizal Day

 

JANUARY

January 2 – Resumption of classes

January 10-11 – Third quarter exams

January 19 – Distribution of report cards and Parent-Teacher conference

January 26-Feb. 27 – Early registration for Kindergarten to Grade 12

 

FEBRUARY

February 4-15 – Student Council Elections

February 5 – Chinese Lunar New Year’s Day

 

MARCH

March 14-15 – Fourth quarter exams for Grades 6 and 12

March 21-22 – Fourth quarter exams for Grades 1-5 and 7-11

Tentative: National Achievement Test for Grade 6 and 10

 

APRIL

April 1 to 5 – End of school year rites`

April 5 – Last day of classes

April 9 – Araw ng Kagitingan

April 11-12 – Distribution of report cards and parent-teacher conference

April 15 – Start of summer classes

April 18 – Maundy Thursday

April 19 – Good Friday

 

MAY

May 1 – Labor Day

May 24 – End of summer classes
