Last May, Edukasyon hosted a media event to launch its Mindanao-based operations. Reporters in Davao City learned about Edukasyon’s unique technology platform and how it is helping more than 1 million students each month find the path to their potential, through its services and guidance on education, career and life decisions.
The expansion to Mindanao allows Edukasyon to actively engage with Mindanaoan youth and its growing network of educational and institutional partners. More than 20 local schools including Ateneo de Davao University, University of the Immaculate Conception and Philippine Women’s College of Davao, have already joined Edukasyon’s community 500+ schools locally and abroad.
Leading the event were Edukasyon’s Head of Mindanao Charmaine Vanta and Head of Public Affairs Rianna Puno, together with the rest of the local team: Dave Laurentz Alvarez, Vanessa Combate and Camille Petallo.
Gian Carlo Tancontian, Promotions Manager at Ateneo de Davao University, shared his experience on partnering with Edukasyon. He noted that up to 40 percent of incoming student applications from February to May 2019 were coursed through the online platform.
Vanta shared more about Edukasyon’s upcoming projects in other local cities, including General Santos City and Cagayan de Oro, where the team is headed in June.
According to Edukasyon CEO and Founder Henry Motte-Muñoz, “In 2018 alone, more than 2 million students from Mindanao visited the Edukasyon platform. We look forward to building up our presence and partnerships in the region to enable us to empower even more Filipino youth.”
