Edukasyon.ph, Nueva Ecija school administrators goes techie on Career and Education Information

Nueva Ecija principals and public school IT officers went career-techie at the first ICT Summit for school heads of public secondary schools, organized by the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Nueva Ecija, held on March 11 at Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.

Leading the line of speakers was Edukasyon.ph School Engagement Officer Daniel Macusi, Jr. who spoke on how Edukasyon.ph can help students find the right education for their dream careers.

Edukasyon.ph is launching this March its #SeniorHighDreams program which helps students plan their careers by logging on to www.edukasyon.ph where they can find Senior High-ready schools and tracks nearest to them that fit their needs.

“We are happy to be working with students, teachers and schools administrators of Nueva Ecija to help our incoming Senior High students make informed decisions as early as now with the careers they wish to embark on. Edukasyon.ph can help them find those choices fast and within the confines of their schools and homes,” said Linartes M. Viloria, Chief Executive Officer, Edukasyon.ph.

A total of 130 school heads of secondary schools and ICT Coordinators attended the summit which was organized by Ronaldo A. Pozon, Ph.D., CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent, and Joel Cruz,Information Technology Officer I, of Schools Division of Nueva Ecija. Other Internet Service Providers in the country and business management solution companies were also there to present their products and services that can help the school heads identify the best communication channels to reach out to teachers and students.

“Our school administrators and IT teachers play a crucial role in finding their way through the different career possibilities offered through our online tool. We hope that through this ICT Summit, our school heads can assist students in Nueva Ecija gear up for the K to 12 transition. Our goal is to be able to bring Edukasyon.ph in every school of every province in the country, so we can help our students plan right for their careers,” said Henry Motte-Munoz, Founder, Edukasyon.ph.

Edukasyon.ph was established by French-Filipino Henry Motte-Muñoz in 2013. A graduate of the London School of Economics and Harvard Business School, Henry was inspired to launch an education website in the Philippines because of the few sources of information on academic opportunities in the country and overseas. He is the only Filipino who made it to the Class of 2015 Asia 21 Young Leaders, a network of professionals from across Asia Pacific operating in the private, public, and non-profit sectors. Henry was also chosen as one of the Forbes 30 Under 30 for 2016.

“With the integration of ICT in the curriculum, school heads of secondary schools must also be equipped with technological skills to better supervise and monitor ICT integration implementation. In the same manner, connectivity must be improved and given attention as one infrastructure that would facilitate learning and exchange of information between and among DepEd stakeholders.
