‘Share Campaign’ Visits UP Diliman with Workshop on Personal Branding

Following two successful student events at Polytechnic University of the Philippines and Ateneo de Manila University, Edukasyon.ph in partnership with ASUS Philippines, hosted its third leg of content creation workshops at the University of the Philippines – Diliman last November 28. This workshop, hosted in collaboration with the UP Junior Marketing Association, was led by lifestyle and entertainment blogger Rod Magaru, and focused on tips and tools for effective personal branding.

These student-centered initiatives are part of the Share Campaign, launched by technology giant ASUS in 2017 as a way of promoting technical knowledge and skills through its innovative products, and to give back to its valued users who have selected ASUS as their brand of choice over the years.

Francis Garcia, Marketing Lead for Consumer Notebooks and Commercial PC Business of ASUS Philippines, shared more about the brand’s own identity and history, highlighting that, “Our focus at ASUS is always on tech innovation. With our range of products, and through events like these, we aim to help you do more and maximize your productivity.”

Magaru, who led the content creation workshop using ASUS laptops, has been a lifestyle and entertainment blogger since 2009. His blog has received wide recognition including Unanimous Reader’s Choice at the Philippine Blog Awards. In 2014, Magaru also hosted a radio show titled Let’s Talk About Career on DZME. His blog is consistently listed under Top 100 Blogs in the Philippines and in 2016, he won the ABS-CBN Push Award for Most Popular Entertainment Blogger in the Philippines.

Magaru advised UP student participants, “Personal branding has to be connected to your passions. You should be consistent in creating your own brand, but learn how to evolve from writing articles to creating YouTube and other social media content. You can always do a little extra, especially using the right tools, to improve the quality of content that you put out there.”

Edukasyon.ph and ASUS PH will continue to empower and equip Filipino students through workshops and other activities under the Share Campaign.
