The road to becoming an engineer can get really tough, and it gets even tougher once you have to fund your education. The good news is there are loads of Engineering scholarships for deserving students around the Philippines!

Smart Wireless Engineering Education Program (SWEEP)

Ever dreamed of working at S.T.A.R Laboratories? This scholarship program could be a step towards that goal!

Since 2011, Smart Communications has partnered with schools to produce industry-ready engineering and information technology graduates. If you are studying in one of the company’s partner schools, you can apply as a scholar to receive financial assistance and extraordinary internship opportunities.

You can also participate in the SWEEP Innovation and Excellence Awards, an annual innovations competition, if you are studying in one of their partner schools. Time to showcase your science investigatory projects!

Engineering Research and Development for Technology (ERDT) Scholarships

The ERDT scholarship, under the Department of Science and Technology Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI), encourages students to attain masteral and doctoral degrees. The program caters to graduates of engineering and related fields. The scholarship aims to increase the number of highly trained Filipino researchers, scientists and engineers.

Students from the following universities can apply:

  • University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB)
  • University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD)
  • De La Salle University (DLSU)
  • Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT)
  • Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU)
  • Mindanao State University—Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT)
  • University of San Carlos (USC)
  • Central Luzon State University (CLSU)

Aboitiz College Scholarship Program (ACSP)

The Aboitiz College Scholarship Program has expanded throughout the country to provide financial assistance, a holistic learning experience and mentoring partnership to select undergraduate students.

The program isn’t only offered to business majors, but it is also available to students from various fields—including engineering! The program covers tuition and miscellaneous expenses, book requirements, and transportation allowances.

If you want to hone your leadership skills, get ready to pass through their competitive screening process. The best part about this scholarship? You get to reserve a slot in the Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit, an annual gathering of Top 90 students across the country!

Engineering and Architecture Scholarship Program (Westmead International School)

Heads up, Batangueños! If you’re looking for Engineering scholarships around your area, you can apply at Westmead International School.

Their scholarship program is open to top-performing graduating high school students who want to pursue Engineering or Architecture. The good news is if you graduated valedictorian or salutatorian, you can automatically avail the grant!

Scholars can enjoy a tuition fee discount, board and lodging allowance, book allowance, free uniform, transportation allowance, and accident insurance!

Special Campus Recruitment Program-Scholarship Grant

This scholarship program is under Petron Foundation Inc. If you are interested in designing oil systems, this is a chance for you to have a hands-on experience in the Petron Bataan Refinery (PBR).  

You can apply to this scholarship if you are taking up Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering at one of Petron’s partner universities: Mapua Institute of Technology, Adamson University, University of Santo Tomas, St. Louis University and University of the Philippines in Diliman and Los Baños. In return, you will have to work in PBR after graduation.  

Once you pass their qualifying examination, you can enjoy plenty of perks—from a 100% tuition fee discount, book allowance per term, monthly living allowance and financial assistance while reviewing for the licensure examination.
