9 CHED Scholarships Worth Checking Out

Are you looking for scholarship opportunities from CHED? Like other organizations and schools, the Commission on Higher Education also offers its own lineup of scholarships for deserving students.

After all, scholarship programs are also propagated by CHED in accordance with its memorandum, as stated in the Philippine Constitution, which serves to “protect and promote the rights all of the citizens to quality education at all levels and shall take appropriate steps to make such education accessible to all.”

Listed below are some of the different scholarships you can avail with the help of CHED:

Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs)

CHED’s State Scholarship Program is a full scholarship meant for graduating high school students from public or private higher education institutions (or HEIs) whose general weighted average is at least 90%, both during their third year and in the first grading periods of their fourth year.

CHED Congressional Scholars – Surigao del Sur State University (Cagwait, Lianga and Tagbina branches)

This scholarship is intended for poor and deserving high school graduates that are recommended by party lists and are based in different congressional districts. Scholars under this program are eligible to enroll in degree programs at any year level, preferably in public colleges and universities.

CHED Faculty and Staff Scholarships – Masters Degree
Lyceum Northwestern University, Urdaneta Campus / Mariano Marcos State University / Northwestern University / Nueva Vizcaya State University

This full scholarship covers the tuition of both faculty and non-teaching staff from higher school institutions (HEIs) in the event that they choose to pursue their master’s degrees.

CHED – K to 12 Transition Program Scholarships
Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU)/ Saint Louis University / University of San Carlos

Through its K to 12 transition program, CHED intends to offer this full scholarship to higher education faculty and staff, which covers full tuition, transportation allowances, and thesis and dissertation grants. Those who intend to take their Masters and are nominated by their respective schools can apply for this scholarship. Students can also apply for full scholarships under various undergraduate and graduate programs in the campus.

Incoming college students can avail of this skills-based scholarship via allowance, which can also run under the Study Now, Pay Later Plan.

CHED Scholars (OTOS)
Western Philippines University

Western Philippines University offers a 4-5 year full tuition to any incoming college freshman who is based in the town of Aborlan, Palawan.

CHED Scholarship Programs
Kalinga Apayao State College (Dagupan, Rizal)

Under the One Town, One Scholar (OTOS) scholarship program, recipients of this scholarship are also offered AFP Educational Benefits along with full and half merit scholarship programs.

This partial-tuition is intended for incoming college students who currently reside in Region 11 (Davao Region).

Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarship – CHED (Philippines)
Macquarie University

Macquarie University’s partial scholarship is provided to outstanding Filipino students who intend to undergo graduate studies at the university for selected programs.
