Scholarships provide an opportunity for many students to pursue their education, especially those who have financial challenges. If you don’t have enough resources to fund your education, going to your dream university can be tough.
Fortunately, if you’re from Northern Luzon, there are many student aids that you can apply for. Here’s a list of Northern Luzon scholarships that you can try:
Scholarships in Ilocos Region:
The National Tobacco Administration provides scholarship grants to students who want to take agriculture-related degrees and technical-vocational courses. The recipient must be a child of an NTA-registered tobacco farmer.
This Northern Luzon scholarship is open to the youth living in major tobacco-growing provinces of Region I (Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan), Region II (Cagayan and Isabela) and Cordillera Autonomous Region (Abra).

Sirib Scholarship Program
The Sirib Scholarship Program has three categories that students can choose from.
Sirib Community Scholarship Program provides at least Php 7,000 per semester. Aside from this, there are also the Sirib Young Leaders Scholarship and Sirib Academic Scholarship program where students will get free tuition fee and a monthly stipend. Under the academic scholarship, applicants must maintain a general weighted average of 2.25 to qualify.
Scholarships in Cagayan Valley:
YAFP is one of the Northern Luzon scholarships offered by the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute. The scholarship aims to encourage the youth, specifically the children of smallholder farmers and fishers, to pursue studies and a professional career in agri-fisheries. The scholarships will be provided through State Universities and Colleges, and private colleges and universities approved by the ATI Capability Building Program Committee.

SM College Scholarship Program
SM Foundation Incorporated offers free education to Cagayanos through its SM College Scholarship Program. SM scholars will get full tuition, a monthly allowance, and part-time job opportunities during semestral and Christmas breaks. Aside from this, they will also have exclusive job offers from SM after graduation.
Applicants must have availed the Department of Education’s voucher program in a public or private senior high school, and their parents must have a household income per year of Php 150,000 or less. The student also needs to have a general weighted average (GWA) of at least 88% in the second or third grading period in Grade 12.

National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NCGP) Scholarship
Another Northern Luzon scholarship that you can try is the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines Scholarship. Scholars can enroll to any degree program at NCGP partner state universities. The grant covers tuition and miscellaneous fees, book and uniform allowance, and a monthly allowance of Php 5,000. Students must maintain a GWA of 80% to qualify for the program.
Scholarships in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR)
The Fisheries Scholarship Program (FSP) is a Northern Luzon scholarship provided by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR). FSP grants full scholarships to qualified high school graduates taking up Bachelor of Science in Fisheries (BSF).
Aside from tuition and miscellaneous fees, the Fisheries Scholarship Program also gives a monthly living allowance of Php 4,000 to a scholar upon submission of copy of grades every end of the semester, Php 3,000 practicum support, Php 2,000 book allowance, Php 7,000 thesis support, as well as Php 1,500 graduation support.
This Northern Luzon scholarship is provided by the Jollibee Foundation Group (JFG) and is open to the young women of Kiangan, Ifugao. Under the QSRO scholarship, recipients will undergo a 12-month technical-vocational course in Bread and Pastry Production, Cookery, and Food and Beverage Services. It also provides administrative units essential to the QSRO industry including point-sales system, stock inventories, and other related administrative tasks.
