Going to a college that also offers senior high school tracks and strands is a major headstart. After all, the K to 12 system was designed to give students an edge and advantage for higher education. Studying in a university that offers a senior high school strand gets your foot in the door for your path to a university degree!
So if you’re in junior high and you’ve chosen the academic track, you’ll need to choose from the four strands:
- Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)
- Accounting, Business, and Management (ABM)
- Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS)
- General Academic Strand (GAS)
Next is choosing where to go for senior high. Again, studying at a college that also offers senior high school strands is a huge advantage. Lucky for you, we’ve compiled a list of some local colleges (not only limited to Metro Manila!) that do just that!
Here’s where to go if you want to jumpstart your senior high school and college education!
Divine Mercy College Foundation: ABM and GAS
The Divine Mercy College Foundation is a private non-sectarian institution located in Caloocan City. It offers undergraduate programs in education, business, information technology, and hotel and restaurant management.
International Baptist College: ABM, HUMSS, and GAS
Also known as the International Baptist College and Seminary (IBCS), this private institution offers programs in theology, religious education, teacher education, and other courses essential to social development.
AMA College: STEM, ABM, HUMSS, and GAS
The AMA Education System is a network of colleges and schools dedicated to providing quality education all over the country. As such, the AMA Colleges are known for their Information Technology-based education. Every course, whether computer-related or not, integrates technology into its program so that students come out with a tech-savvy advantage.
All of the branches we’ve listed above offer all of the academic strands, except for AMA College Cavite which only offers STEM and ABM.
A bonus for those headed to AMA College La Union is a cool track called Information and Communications Technology (ICT), which focuses on computer technology.
Emilio Aguinaldo College – Cavite: STEM, ABM, and HUMSS
The Emilio Aguinaldo College has two branches: one in Manila and the other in Cavite. This institution groups its courses under four clusters: Allied Health, Arts and Humanities, Education, and Business, Information and Communication Technology, and finally Hotel Management. They are also tied up with organizations like the Manila Pearl Hotel and Manila Med.
Philippine Christian University – Dasmariñas: STEM, ABM, HUMSS, GAS
Abbreviated to PCU-Dasma, this private institution offers a complete educational program from pre-school to postgraduate studies. They pride themselves on their courses in Business, Technology, Arts, Sciences, and Teacher Education.

ABE International Business College: ABM
Here’s another network of colleges under the AMA Education System. The network of ABE International Business Colleges specializes in Business, Tourism, and Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM). This institution and its branches also offer TESDA-approved finishing courses and training in home economics.
The Malolos branch also offers the General Academic Strand.
St. Augustine School of Nursing – Lucena City: STEM, ABM, HUMSS, and GAS
St. Augustine School of Nursing (SASN) in Lucena is one of many branches and is also a member of AMA Education System. It offers short courses, undergraduate programs, and senior high programs for individuals who want to make a difference in the field of healthcare.
Though it’s a medical-oriented school, SASN is still diverse as a senior high. Its senior high school program offers all the academic strands!
Similar to the branch in Lucena, the St. Augustine College in Quezon City specializes in healthcare and hospitality-related courses. It mainly offers TESDA-certified courses like Nursing and Caregiving. The only academic strand available at this branch, however, is ABM.
