Last-minute Tips to Help You Ace your Entrance Exams

So, you’ve attended a review center, took countless practice exams, or read tons of articles online on how to prepare for college entrance exams. You are finally taking the entrance exam to your dream college, and you might feel overwhelmed by the fact that this one exam will decide your future. But don’t panic! You got this. At least a week before the exam, do everything you can do to relax and take your mind off of stressful things.

On the day of the exams, however, here are some quick and easy things you should remember:

Arrive early

Expect that traffic’s gonna be bad on the way to the exam venue. Wake up early, have a filling breakfast, and leave home hours before the exam schedule. Be sure to arrive at the school as early as possible to avoid the unnecessary stress of rushing or actually running to the rooms just to get there on time.

Make sure you bring the right pencil and other requirements

Schools often require a certain kind of pencil for the exams, be sure you have the right one! Also bring an eraser and a sharpener, as well as identification cards, if needed.

Go to the bathroom before the test

Yes, you will be allowed to go the bathroom during the exam, but you don’t want to waste five minutes of your limited time just because you needed to go to the toilet. Use the extra time before the exam to attend to your bathroom needs.

Check your personal information

Before going through the questionnaire, you will fill out a personal information sheet. Make sure you fill it out properly. Also check your name at the masterlist and correct typos if there are any.

Focus on your test

Avoid distractions. Focus on the test, read the questions carefully, and follow the instructions! Don’t spend too much time on one question and review your answers if you still have the time.

Bring light snacks and bottled water

Don’t let a grumbling stomach distract you from taking your exam. So, bring light snacks for when you feel hungry. Make sure though that the snacks you bring are easy to eat, and aren’t ‘noisy’ food.

These are just some of the things you can do to help you get ready on the day of the exam. Remember, the most important thing is to believe in yourself. You can do this! For more tips on acing exams, check out Edukasyon.ph.
