However, studying in Spain does come with financial demand that not everyone can meet. The fact of the matter is: studying overseas can be expensive. Luckily, there are scholarships in Spain which are open to candidates worldwide!

Scholarships in Spain at St. Louis University – Madrid

Opting to study abroad is an opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and embrace a new world of learning. It’s also a great way of investing in your future. After all, the world has a lot to offer – and so do you! St. Louis University – Madrid (SLU-Madrid) believes in nurturing talent from all background types. In line with this vision, any student from any country in the world may qualify for the following scholarships.

Catholic High School Scholarship

Freshman applicants to SLU-Madrid who have spent and completed their last 2 years of high school at any Catholic high school from anywhere in the world may receive this award. Eligible applicants must not hold any undergraduate degree. This scholarship has a value of 1,000 euros every semester.

Borja Scholarship

This scholarship is applicable to any undergraduate degree. It can run for up to 8 semesters of continuous, full-time enrollment or until the undergraduate degree is completed – whichever comes first.

Award value: 6,000 euros (around PHP 344,000) for 4 years

Maintaining grade: cumulative GPA of 2.0

Crediting period: A value of 1,500 euros (around PHP 86,000) will be credited every year. Half of the credit will go to the fall semester tuition while the other half will go to the spring semester tuition.

Additional perk: Students who wish to spend a semester at the St. Louis campus in the US may use the Borja Scholarship for tuition expenses.

Rubio Scholarship

This scholarship is applicable to any undergraduate degree. It can run for up to 8 semesters of continuous, full-time enrollment or until the undergraduate degree is completed – whichever comes first.

Award value: 12,000 euros (around PHP 688,000) for 4 years

Maintaining grade: cumulative GPA of 2.5

Crediting period: A value of 3,000 euros (around PHP 172,000) will be credited every year. Half of the credit will go to the fall semester tuition while the other half will go to the spring semester tuition.

Additional perk: Students who wish to spend a semester at the St. Louis campus in the US may use the Rubio Scholarship for tuition expenses.

Arrupe Scholarship

This scholarship is applicable to any undergraduate degree. It can run for up to 8 semesters of continuous, full-time enrollment or until the undergraduate degree is completed – whichever comes first.

Award value: 20,000 euros (around PHP 1, 147,000) for 4 years

Maintaining grade: cumulative GPA of 3.0

Crediting period: A value of 5,000 euros (around PHP 287,000) will be credited every year. Half of the credit will go to the fall semester tuition while the other half will go to the spring semester tuition.

Additional perk: Students who wish to spend a semester at the St. Louis campus in the US may use the Arrupe Scholarship for tuition expenses.

Sullivant Scholarship

This scholarship is applicable to any undergraduate degree. It can run for up to 8 semesters of continuous, full-time enrollment or until the undergraduate degree is completed – whichever comes first.

Award value: 28,000 euros (around PHP 1, 600,000) for 4 years

Maintaining grade: cumulative GPA of 3.1

Crediting period: A value of 7,000 euros (around PHP 401,000) will be credited every year. Half of the credit will go to the fall semester tuition while the other half will go to the spring semester tuition.

Additional perk: Students who wish to spend a semester at the St. Louis campus in the US may use the Sullivant Scholarship for tuition expenses.

Iñigo Scholarship

This scholarship is applicable to any undergraduate degree. It can run for up to 8 semesters of continuous, full-time enrollment or until the undergraduate degree is completed – whichever comes first.

Award value: 36,800 euros (around PHP 2, 100,000) for 4 years

Maintaining grade: cumulative GPA of 3.2

Crediting period: A value of 9,200 euros (around PHP 527,000) will be credited every year. Half of the credit will go to the fall semester tuition while the other half will go to the spring semester tuition.

Additional perk: Students who wish to spend a semester at the St. Louis campus in the US may use the Iñigo Scholarship for tuition expenses.

Director’s Scholarship

This is a merit scholarship applicable to any undergraduate degree. It can run for up to 8 semesters of continuous, full-time enrollment or until the undergraduate degree is completed – whichever comes first.

Award value: Full tuition award for 4 years

Minimum requirements:

1. A cumulative high school GPA of 3.85 or higher, which must be reflected on your transcript of records.

2. An official ACT score of at least 30 composite or an SAT of at least 1390 (math and evidence-based reading and writing).
