Design Your Own Career with Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore!

Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore’s Internship Program “Design My Career” is addressed to international students, specifically to Study Abroad and Exchange students who wish to undertake a professional experience in a culturally-diverse environment as part of their academic curriculum.

The program provides each student intern with an integrated academic and professional learning experience, which can be done at different periods during the academic year and in two different modalities: Part-time internship during the semester and full-time internship after a semester of full-time study.

Part-time internship program

The part-time internship program could either be and internship at a company or project-based work defined together with the UCSC Academic Advisor and the assigned company tutor/advisor. Students are not required to regularly work at the company base.

This program includes the internship placement, academic, and company tutorship/advising.

Students can apply for the program during Fall and Spring semesters and work between 120 to 150 hours.

Full-time internship program

The full-time internship program is designed for students having done a semester at UCSC and wish to complement their studies with a full-time work experience within Italy.

The program will include internship placement, academic, and company tutorship/advising.

Students can apply for the full-time internship program in the Summer (June-July) or Winter (January-February) and work for 240 hours.

Internship Placements

Università Cattolica offers a limited number of individually customized internships that may be available in the following disciplinary areas (other disciplinary areas may be possible upon request): business, marketing, fashion and sales, communication, and journalism.

Students must be aware that over 90% of Italian businesses are small or medium – size enterprises, so placements in large multinational companies are limited. If students are offered a placement, it may be the only option available. It is therefore important that candidates understand the need to be flexible. However, UCSC will take great care in finding the best match.

These are unpaid positions, but some companies may provide other types of benefits (not guaranteed).

Basic knowledge of Italian language is required: students must enroll in the pre-session and semester Italian Language courses offered by Università Cattolica.

Admission requirements

To participate in the internship program, students must be junior or senior standing (third or fourth year) at the undergraduate level at their home institution or currently enorlled in a graduate program.
