Newcastle College Has Been Given University Taught Degree-Awarding Powers

We are all very excited here at Newcastle College as we have become the first and currently only Technical and Vocational College in UK history to be awarded its own University taught degree awarding powers!

This means, after extensive and in-depth auditing of our programs and systems, the Privy Council and QAA have agreed to grant us the same awarding and program development powers as a university. It is a landmark achievement and we can now develop and award programs that are relevant and in line with student and industry needs. As we speak our academic teams are working with our industry partners to validate our new Degree’s to make them stand out from the crowd!

We will do this with our ‘Work Ready Guarantee’. This means that all of our degrees will come with either an embedded professional qualification and/or membership of a professional industry body. This will enrich our new degrees but also be in keeping with our vocational roots.

The first of our programs to be validated and awarded by NCG (Newcastle College Group) will be our January start MBA. We are so proud of our Masters of Business Administration and why not when it has so much to offer:
· Dual award with embedded CMI (The Chartered Management Institute) qualification
· 18-month program for extended study time and option for the final 6 months – Extended time to complete your dissertation or a 6-month work placement project.
· Highly competitive fees as Newcastle College is a not-for-profit government funded institution – MBA International Fee: £8975
· Scholarship of up to £1000 for the equivalent of 1st Class Hons Degree or £500 for 2:1 hons Degree
· Awarded by NCG – The largest education, training and employability body in the whole of the UK serving 133,000 learners every year
· Studying at Newcastle College – Awarded “Best College” in the Educate the North Awards and based in our new £18 million Parsons Building
· And not forgetting the City of Newcastle upon Tyne – Voted “Best UK City” by the Guardian and Observer newspaper readers, Voted “#1 Student City” by Microsoft Travel and “Happiest UK City” by European Commission

Don’t forget that if you are not ready for January we have our Summer (June) and September intake so we can defer your application if required rather than you losing your Conditional Offer
